Job SummaryAs the Logistics Project Manager you will coordinate complex logistics projects from inception to completion, optimizing supply chain processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while meeting quality and cost objectives.
Responsibilities- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, resources, and strategic approaches.
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of logistics coordinators, fostering collaboration.
- Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and provide guidance to ensure effective teamwork.
- Implement quality assurance processes to ensure goods are handled, stored, and transported per industry standards and client specifications.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to allocate necessary resources, including manpower, equipment, and budget.
- Issue written and oral instructions, and study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to review and negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, verify and invoice vendors, and address issues.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Network across the organization and develop successful internal and external relationships.
- Familiarity with corporate governance and organizational behavior models.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- Experience administering the disciplinary action process.
- Knowledge and experience with transportation management system implementation.
- Ability to manage complex cross‑functional projects requiring identification of objectives, resources, and approaches.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and time‑management skills.
- Sense of urgency and drives problems toward resolution.
- Working knowledge of domestic transportation, including truck and air.
- Knowledge of international import/export and customs regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Lean/Sigma certificate.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- CPIM, CPSM, or PMP certification or similar.
- Minimum 3 years of managing logistics projects.
- Sit for extended periods.
- Talk on the phone for extended periods.
- View information on a PC for extended periods.
