The Electrical Project Manager owns full project execution and leads communication, schedules, budgeting, coordination, and close-out. This includes managing budgets, schedules, resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The role requires close coordination with customers, vendors, superintendents, safety teams, and project consultants while ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires minimal direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage vendor and partner relationships to ensure performance and delivery.
- Serve as primary communication hub with customers, and internal and external stakeholders, with timely responses and strong satisfaction outcomes.
- Manage and expand project scope through the pursuit of change order opportunities.
- Join estimating kickoffs and support partner selection, bid reviews, and proposal writing.
- Lead project and customer meetings including internal and customer kick-offs and project meetings; document meetings and action items in Procore.
- Prepare and communicate detailed project status reports, including delay notices.
- Lead full project setup in Procore—finalize directories, budgets, SOVs, schedules, workflows, and ensure all team members and partners are added correctly.
- Lead safety planning—create/review JHA and Safety Plan, verify training, certifications, and equipment readiness, and conduct project orientation.
- Manage scheduling and sequencing of all project activities; ensure Procore is kept up to date.
- Develop and issue full WBS and detailed project procedures.
- Manage financial activities, including budgeting, cost forecasting, reporting performance metrics, timesheets and project invoices, ensuring accurate and scope financial aligned outcomes.
- Negotiate and perform full material buy-out and logistics in accordance with company procurement policy and guidelines.
- Lead all site quality control efforts, enforcing project and work specifications, daily quality inspections, managing the documentation of findings and partnering with stakeholders to create solutions as needed.
- Ensure all owner contracts are in place, uploaded, and understood; align project setup, billing, and deliverables with contract terms.
- Negotiate, manage, and maintain vendors and partners contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and contractual requirements.
- Ensure safety compliance, code compliance, and permit requirements are met.
- Assign and oversee team responsibilities, including performance accountability, working standards, CEC culture standards, professional standards, and team development as needed.
- Build and maintain a collaborative project culture.
- Ensures jobsite safety practices are followed and ensures compliance with all safety standards.
- Performs other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent education and experience in construction management, engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating practices, construction materials, and cost management.
- Intermediate understanding of power distribution, low voltage system components, and general construction requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Up to 40% travel to job sites.
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and a true believer in safety.
- Current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
