The Senior Manager of Distribution and Freight (IMDF) is responsible for handling the day‑to‑day operations of all DCs. The IMDF develops and drives operational efficiencies through utilization of available performance metrics and productivity tools. The IMDF also leads, develops and trains DC associates on workflow processes which are key to delivering meaningful results. This position has a lead role in partnering with both external and internal clients and communicating DC activities and events that affect business.
As the IMDF for Burkhart Dental, you provide key leadership and management for all areas of the supply chain, from supply/demand planning to delivery of quality products to our clients. You drive Burkhart’s business forward through your strategic planning and effective leadership in the areas of inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
What success looks like…- DC LEADERSHIP: DC metrics are met, including YOY improvement in lines filled per hour (LPH), order accuracy at 99.6% of lines shipped. You budget and manage operational expenses, including payroll, to be in compliance with approved annual budget.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: You strive for continuous improvement and offer ideas to the team about how we might improve our processes or better our understanding or technical skills. You undertake multiple process improvement projects each year, demonstrating measurable improvements in the results.

You take initiative to ultimately solve problems with or without additional support, willingly engaging the necessary resource(s) to solve those problems in a timely, quality and collaborative manner. - FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: You are responsible for the financial results of your assigned team/branch/dept/division. Your assigned area runs lean, efficiently and profitably, with a focus on net profit, strong margins, and growth. You carefully manage expenses, staying within annual budget guidelines, and regularly update leadership with financial performance.
- TEAM MANAGEMENT: You are an exceptional coach, leader, and mentor for your associates. Your team is engaged, communicates well with each other and other associates, and fully contributes to Burkhart through continued personal and professional development. You meet with each direct report quarterly, reviewing their goals, holding them accountable for their key performance metrics, and provide coaching and strategy for them to meet and exceed their goals.

Required Education, Licensure, and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or closely related field, or 4 years of progressively responsible experience in distribution, warehousing, or logistics.
- 5 years of progressive leadership and management experience in organizations with distribution centers and supply chains.
- Certified (at time of hire or within 3 months of hire) to operate forklift, reach truck, stock picker, WAV picker, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment.
- Must successfully clear a background check through applicable pharmaceutical boards and pass a designated representative certification course as soon as eligible and maintain these clearances on an ongoing basis.
