Production Manager, Operations Manager
This hands‑on job is responsible for managing all facets within the operations. This leader must be able to collaborate and work with other leaders across shifts, departments, and sites. Responsibilities include ensuring effective operation by working with supervisors to complete customer priorities based on demand schedules, assigning tasks and projects as needed, coordinating the flow of work, overseeing completion of work, monitoring key performance metrics (KPI), managing labor efficiency across the area of responsibility, mentoring and coaching leaders, and managing headcount.
The role requires multitasking, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of quality, inventory, and warehousing processes in a manufacturing environment.
This is an onsite role in our Irving, TX location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?- Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards while maintaining employee morale and overseeing the training of new and existing staff.
- Work with senior management to establish department and company goals and rely on experience, judgment, and innovation to achieve them.
- Develop and implement process improvements and coordinate new product introductions.
- Serve as liaison between teams, shifts, functional areas, supervisors, and departments, partnering with vendor, customer, and client representatives.
- Collaborate with other leaders within the site to monitor inventory levels, materials, equipment, and procurement of capital equipment as needed.
- Provide a clean, organized, and safe work environment for personnel, ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
- Work with supervisors to ensure they effectively manage headcount and complete supervisory tasks, including hiring, performance reviews, mentoring, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Meet production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service level agreements; resolve problems and identify process improvements.
- Meet production financial standards by controlling and minimizing operation expenses.
- Drive engagement across the area of responsibility and work with leaders to review and address peakon scores.
- Review Tableau reports to ensure the team/department attains desired performance metrics.
- Maintain flow of operations by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
- Drive and maintain cost within business guidelines for the area of ownership.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the operational goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 12 years in a leadership/manager position within a fast‑paced manufacturing, industrial services, distribution, or assembly environment, including 7 years leading supervisors.
- Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others.
- Must have experience working within a 5S, Lean, Six Sigma environment.
- Ability to identify potential process and workflow improvements.
- Strong math, reasoning, analysis, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to apply technical skills and techniques in wireless mobile device processing.
- Strong knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with label printers and bar code scanners.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel as well as external personnel.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must be available to work extra hours as needed.
- Experience managing an hourly workforce.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or R2 certifications.
Pay Range: $74,600.00 - $
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
