2nd Shift Forklift Operator​/Material Handler

• Observe and comply with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job.
• Participate in needs analysis and attend scheduled training and educational programs identified for this position.
• Participate, as requested, in independent objective auditing activities and support company continuous improvement activities.
• Stop work on processes as appropriate and contain suspect or defective material or services to avoid further processing.
• Move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, or hook tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transport load to designated area.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Move material from location to location within the plant at prescribed frequencies and in the most efficient manner.
• Inventory materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Recharge batteries or replace liquefied gas tank.

This position is 2nd Shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm), Monday – Friday, located at our plant in Irving, TX. Occasionally you may need to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends to meet customer needs.

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely perform job duties.
• One month related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred:
  Previous material handling and forklift driving experience.
• High standards of performance for self; takes responsibility for actions and results; thorough, accurate, and reliable.
• Works with a sense of urgency to meet customer needs.
• Can work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturdays and Sundays.
• Basic computer skills and safe driving ability.
• Strong organizational skills.
