CNC Machinist – Heavy Industrial

Penmac Staffing is hiring! We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a well-established industrial employer in Irving, TX. This opportunity is available as temp-to-hire or direct hire, depending on experience and fit. This is not a repetitive production role; you will work on large, custom components, repair projects, and one-off machining jobs in a dynamic, heavy industrial environment.

• Monday–Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm
• Potential overtime based on production needs
• $26-$30/hr based on experience

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment safely and efficiently
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
• Machine large industrial components to specified tolerances
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
• Select proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and work holding methods
• Make offset adjustments and minor program edits as needed
• Perform manual machining tasks, including repair work, fitting, and custom modifications
• Support repair and reverse engineering projects requiring strong problem-solving skills
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, QA, and team members
• Work overtime to meet production schedules and deadlines

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Strong background in manual machining highly preferred
• Experience with large-part machining preferred
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges)
• Experience working with carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and similar materials
• Strong understanding of tolerances, fits, and machining practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
• Experience in heavy industrial or repair environments is a plus
