Job Purpose

In general, the Inspector inspects, reviews and documents aircraft jet aircraft engine parts for serviceability, ensures compliance with FAA 145 Station Ratings and Operations Specifications. May serve as Repair, Final, or as an Inspector leader in a production cell, directing the activity and reviewing the work of production technicians. Responsible for providing excellent service & support to our customers. Though most Inspectors have a certain location and certain daily job duties assigned, it is critical to the team process that all employees understand that they are required to work in any capacity to support their team.

and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all maintenance and alterations performed by this repair station are in accordance with the Ratings and Operations Specifications of the FAA 145 repair station.
  • May train, direct, supervise and assist all personnel performing work under the repair station certificate as directed by the Production Director (Repair Station Accountable Manager).
  • Ensures that all facilities, equipment, materials and data meet the applicable requirements for the certificate and ratings of this Repair Station.
  • Determines equivalency of tools and equipment used by the repair station and documents that determination.
  • May issue and is authorized to sign on behalf of the repair station Form 8130-3 form per the instructions of 8130-21.
  • Ensures all technical data provided in the instructions for continued airworthiness, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA, are current and available to persons performing maintenance and alterations on articles.
  • Required to be thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensures appropriate calibrations and checks are made on the tools and equipment used by the repair station (including technician's personal tools).
  • Submits reports to the Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager on failures, malfunctions or defects.
  • Reports any identified risks associated with the repair station to the Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager.
  • May manage cell repair station employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times.
  • Prioritizes daily activities within the repair cell.
  • Performs all actions required for Return to Service within the cell.
  • Manages all Continuous Improvement efforts on behalf of the cell as directed by the Production Manager and/or Quality Assurance Manager in line with AS9100, AS9110, ISO
    9000.
  • Communicates with internal staff as required.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance and clean‑up on equipment.
  • Works safely and effectively communicates in a team environment.
  • Problem solves and troubleshoots equipment and issues on a regular basis.
  • Involvement in ongoing process improvement in the work area.
  • Completes shift paperwork and record‑keeping.
  • Attends and participates in team meetings and regular training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
