About the Role
We are seeking experienced Fitter/Fabricators with strong structural steel and welding capabilities to join growing fabrication and manufacturing teams. This role involves hands-on work with heavy steel components, blueprint-driven fabrication, and welding in a fast-paced production or job shop environment.
Ideal candidates are skilled trades professionals who take pride in precision work, safety, and producing high-quality finished steel assemblies.
What You'll Do
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication schematics
- Layout, position, align, and fit steel components for welding and assembly
- Perform FCAW (flux-core), MIG, and/or Stick welding on structural steel
- Tack and weld components into complete assemblies or subassemblies
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy
- Verify dimensions and tolerances to meet engineering specifications
- Move materials using cranes, hoists, forklifts, and rigging equipment
- Straighten or adjust steel components using heat and mechanical methods
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
- 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication, structural welding, or fitting
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Hands-on welding experience (FCAW required; MIG and Stick preferred)
- Strong fitting, layout, and assembly skills for heavy steel components
- Experience working with steel plate, structural steel, or heavy fabrication
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Basic math skills for layout and fabrication accuracy
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience with cranes, rigging, or material handling is a plus
- Industrial fabrication or manufacturing shop setting
- May include exposure to heat, noise, sparks, and heavy machinery
- Safety-first culture with PPE requirements and structured procedures
- Fast-paced, production-driven environment with quality expectations
Compensation varies by employer and experience level but typically includes:
