Cannonball Recruiting is hiring experienced fabrication fitters to support a steel fabrication and machining operation in Irving, TX. The team manufactures large, heavy steel products for customers across the United States, and we’re looking for a pro who can take a blueprint and turn it into a finished, high‑quality assembly.
Compensation & Schedule Pay: $24–$28 per hour (depending on weld test results)

Monday–Thursday (5:00pm–3:30am)
OT available Friday and Saturday as needed
A Day in the Shop You start by reviewing shop drawings, routers, and bills of material. With the plan in hand, you lay out and examine metal stock, mark precise bend and cut lines (accounting for plate thickness, machine and weld shrinkage), and build or adjust jigs, templates, and fixtures.
Using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, hammers, braces, clamps, ropes, and bolts, you position, align, and secure parts. You move heavy components manually or by forklift, hoist, or crane. You tack assemblies, then perform welding operations using MIG as well as Flux Core, TIG, and Stick when required—verifying every joint with squares, rulers, and tapes to meet spec.
When something isn’t straight, you help correct it with sledges, hand torches, straightening presses, or bulldozers. You document work, keep equipment operating smoothly, and maintain a safe, orderly work area. Throughout the shift, you coordinate with supervisors and teammates in person, by phone, and in writing, juggle priorities, and handle other assigned duties. You can comfortably lift 50+ pounds.
