Penmac Staffing is seeking a skilled Industrial Repair Technician to support a heavy industrial repair facility specializing in rotating equipment rebuilds and mechanical repair. This is a hands‑on role ideal for experienced technicians who thrive in a shop environment and want a stable, long‑term opportunity with growth potential.
What You’ll DoAs an Industrial Repair Technician, you will be responsible for the complete teardown, inspection, repair, and rebuild of rotating equipment used in industrial and manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild gearboxes, shafts, bearings, crushers, and related equipment
- Diagnose wear, damage, and failure points in gears, housings, weldments, and bearings
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators) to verify tolerances
- Perform structural and repair welding on carbon steel components
- Complete shaft alignments using dial indicator and/or laser alignment methods
- Verify clearances, tolerances, endplay, and coupling specifications
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop material‑handling equipment
- Maintain a safe work environment by following LOTO, safety, and housekeeping procedures
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial equipment repair
- Strong background working with rotating equipment (gearboxes, shafts, bearings, crushers, etc.)
- Ability to independently complete tear‑downs, inspections, and rebuilds
- Experience with precision measurements (± .001–.002 tolerances)
- Proficiency in shaft alignment techniques
- Knowledge of mechanical fits, tolerances, and clearances
- Structural welding experience on carbon steel
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
- Must supply own basic tools
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Bilingual candidates highly encouraged to apply
- Pay: $26.70 – $34.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM - Overtime:
