Position Summary
Title: Material Handler
Location: Irving, TX, Texas (US‑TX)
Reports to: Senior Production Supervisor (Production Manager)
Department: Irving – 1st Shift Trim Grade
Classification: Nonexempt
Employment Type: Full‑time
Compensation: Hourly, Non‑exempt
Responsibilities: The Material Handler will perform essential functions that support the production line, ensuring efficient and safe handling of materials.
Responsibilities- Produce and assemble cardboard boxes for packing finished product.
- Pack finished products into boxes at rates of 6 boxes/min (40 lb) or 8 boxes/min (30 lb).
- Palletize finished boxed product at a rate of 40–50 boxes per pallet every 5 minutes.
- Staging pallets and guiding finished product boxes through the double‑sided tape machine, securing a good seal (8 boxes/min).
- Move pallets to and from designated areas as required.
- Operate and work rapidly while following all safety rules and regulations.
- Communicate concerns regarding production, safety, or employee relations to management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support production demands.
- Lifting totes and emptying them as needed.
- Note:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Must complete a pre‑employment physical and drug test.
- Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to frequently bend, lift, and twist.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
High school diploma or equivalent; entry‑level experience acceptable.
Working ConditionsHigh noise levels, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment, and dust may be present. Personal protective equipment will be required or necessary.
