Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective operation by working with supervisors to complete customer priorities based on demand schedules.
• Assign tasks and projects as needed and coordinate the flow of work, overseeing completion.
• Monitor key performance metrics (KPIs) and manage labor efficiency across the area of responsibility.
• Mentor and coach leaders while managing headcount.
• Maintain a strong understanding of quality, inventory, and warehousing processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and process standards, while maintaining employee morale and overseeing training of new and existing staff.
• Work with senior management to establish department and company goals and rely on experience, judgment, and innovation to achieve them.
• Develop and implement process improvements and coordinate new product introductions.
• Act as a liaison between teams, shifts, functional areas, supervisors, and departments, and partner with vendor / customer / client representatives.
• Collaborate with other leaders within the site to monitor inventory levels, materials, equipment, and procurement of capital equipment as needed.
• Provide a clean, organized, and safe work environment for personnel, ensuring all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
• Work with supervisors to ensure they effectively manage headcount and complete supervisory tasks, including hiring, performance reviews, mentoring / coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Meet production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service level agreements, resolving problems, and identifying process improvements.
• Meet production financial standards by controlling and minimizing operation expenses.
• Drive engagement across the area of responsibility and work with leaders to review and address peakon scores.
• Review reports to ensure that the team or department is attaining desired performance metrics, following up with leaders on opportunities.
• Maintain flow of operations by communicating production status, requirements and problems to the next shift.
• Drive, maintain, and control cost within business guidelines for the area of ownership.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish operational goals and objectives.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years in a leadership/manager position within a fast‑paced manufacturing, industrial services, distribution, or assembly environment; including 7 years leading supervisors.
• Demonstrated experience with direct supervision and coaching of others.
• Experience working in a 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma environment.
• Ability to identify potential process and workflow improvements.
• Strong math, reasoning, analysis, and decision‑making skills.
• Knowledge and application of technical skills and techniques in wireless mobile device processing.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with label printers and barcode scanners.
• Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of personnel, including external personnel.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must be available to work extra hours as needed.
• Experience managing an hourly workforce.

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience with ISO
  9001 or R2 certifications.
