Perioperative/OR Supervisor

Front‑line leadership role overseeing perioperative staff, supply and equipment management, and Sterile Processing Department activities in alignment with institutional policies and Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise all perioperative staff; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, industry standards, and JC requirements per Director’s direction.
  • Assist in scrub and circulator duties as needed; oversee supply and equipment readiness for cases.
  • Coordinate orientation plans for new staff and assist in staff evaluation processes.
  • Manage staff timekeeping and oversee management of projects assigned by the Director.
  • Lead the Sterile Processing Department and supervise daily activities of the SPD.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • License: Current Texas Nursing License; BLS current; ACLS and PALS required within 60 days of hire.
  • Experience: Three (3) years in surgical scrub or circulator roles preferred.
  • Experience: Two (2) years in surgical management as service coordinator or charge position preferred.
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Independent decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, families, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and operating‑room procedures.
  • Familiarity with TDH, Medicare, and Joint Commission rules & regulations.
  • Capability to make sound nursing and managerial decisions.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and attentiveness to age‑specific patient needs.
  • Proficiency in using the Electronic Heath Care Record for documentation, chart audit, and review.
