OR RN First Assistant

Shift

3, 12‑hour shifts 7:00 am–7:00 pm with on‑call requirement. FT/Day variable with 3–12 hours to be discussed in interview.

As a First Assistant Registered Nurse, you will support physicians in clinic, hospital, and OR settings to deliver top‑tier medical care. You will collaborate closely with physicians and patients throughout the entire patient treatment process—from pre‑surgery to post‑surgery care.

• Carry out pre‑surgical evaluations and focused nursing assessments, and issue pre‑operative orders following established procedures.
• Participate in patient care planning, interacting and coordinating with other healthcare providers.
• Assist surgeons during operations by handling instruments, providing exposure, cutting tissue, ensuring hemostasis, and suturing tissues.
• Help manage patients post‑surgery in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with patient discharge and coordinate with community resources when needed.

• Effective communication abilities.
• In‑depth understanding of operating room proceedings.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with all hospital departments.
• Detailed knowledge of patient procedures in a clinic environment.
• Proficiency in working collaboratively with all office staff members.

• BSN.
• 1+ year(s) of experience as a RN‑First Assist (RNFA).
• Experience in GYN, Colon–Rectal, Urology and General preferred.
• Robotics (Da Vinci Xi) experience highly preferred.

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• RN‑First Assist (RNFA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
