Join Our Team as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Urgent Care!
We are seeking dedicated healthcare providers to join our urgent care team. An NP in urgent care is a licensed, certified provider who delivers direct patient care, has prescriptive authority, and is billed as an independent provider by Medicare and Medicaid. The Advanced Practice Provider delivers care under the supervising physician’s scope and typically serves patients in urgent or convenient care clinics.
Key Responsibilities- Assesses patients through comprehensive or problem‑focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and needs.
- Prescribes medications and performs procedures in accordance with approved policies, focusing on efficacy, safety, and cost.
- Forms and implements comprehensive, outcomes‑based treatment plans based on assessments, evidence‑based medicine, and standards of care with interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Counsels patients and families on medical processes, medication management, nutrition, and health promotion.
- Maintains detailed patient records and initiates timely consultation or referral when the issue exceeds scope of practice.
- Provides consultation services for conditions related to specialty and training.
- Performs invasive procedures within scope of practice and level of expertise as delegated by supervising physician.
- May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs.
- Knowledge of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, including drug properties and interactions.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal and critical thinking skills with complex problem‑solving ability.
- Proficiency in computers and related software applications.
- Ability to develop and implement outcome‑based treatment plans and counsel patients regarding medical and psychological conditions.
- Ability to interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
- Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege from a compacts state for RNs and LVNs, plus Texas APRN.
- Current Physician‑Practicing Nurse Practitioner license in Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Certification from an accredited board as an APRN for the patient population of focus.
