A respected acute care hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead a Medical-Surgical unit. This leadership position is responsible for 24/7 departmental operations, staff development, quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and financial stewardship.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Nurse Manager, Department Director, or high-performing Clinical Nurse Coordinator ready to advance into nursing leadership. The successful candidate will possess strong operational expertise, team-building skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight of the Medical-Surgical department.
- Ensure alignment of departmental operations with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Lead staffing, scheduling, productivity management, and workforce planning.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, and corrective action processes.
- Monitor quality metrics, patient safety outcomes, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care delivery.
- Manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, and financial performance.
- Support professional development, competency validation, and continuing education programs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, excellence, and patient-centered care.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Texas RN License or Compact RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Previous Nurse Manager, Department Director, or comparable nursing leadership experience
- Strong Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs) ready to transition into a Nurse Manager role
- Charge Nurses with demonstrated leadership abilities and operational involvement
- Progressive leadership experience within Medical-Surgical services
- Experience managing staffing, budgets, quality initiatives, and employee development
- National nursing certification
