Registered Nurse Mother Baby​/Postpartum

Job Summary:

Provide specialized postpartum and newborn care as a registered nurse in a hospital setting. Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care to postpartum mothers and newborns, ensuring safety and comfort throughout recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing care to antepartum and postpartum patients, monitoring vital signs and recovery progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform procedures such as IV placements and manage patient documentation in Meditech.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and health management.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and attire policies.
• Respond to patient needs promptly during 7P-7A shifts, including weekends on an every-other basis.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active TX RN license; temporary licenses not accepted.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent hospital experience in maternity or postpartum units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Meditech documentation system.
• Be capable of caring for high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients.
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Show ability to provide newborn nursery care and educate patients effectively.
