Location:

2304 Century Center Boulevard, Irving, Texas, 75062. The Quality Technician Lead is responsible for performing standardized qualitative and quantitative tests on work-in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards. The QA Lead Technician is also responsible for providing training and guidance to a team of Lab Technicians.

Shift and Schedule

This position will support the 3rd shift 9:00pm - 5:30am, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required.

Responsibilities
  • Organoleptic and analytical analyses of products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with company Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintain sound calibration and validation programs for lab instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, DMA, PFD, Carbo

    QC, OxyQC, Refractometer, Autotitrators, Microscopes, Balances, pH Meter, Microbiological Luminescence System, UV-Vis).
  • Determine that each instrument or device performs within specified operational parameters.
  • Provide accurate results and exercise sound judgment before releasing data used to adjust syrup tanks and release finished products to market; qualify and quantify instrument and analytical output for validity.
  • Perform microbiological testing of water, sugar, finished products, etc. by membrane filtration technique; conduct surface swabbing on equipment.
  • Assure quality and integrity of raw bulk ingredients (e.g., sugar, CO2, Liquid N2).
  • Understand chemical principles related to analytical methods and instrumentation, GLP, GMP, HACCP, Chemical Safety, and lab housekeeping procedures.
  • Maintain QA documentation and record control procedures, formula and specification control, consumer complaints, nonconforming materials and products, etc.
  • Perform statistical analysis of laboratory data and use data to recommend process improvements.
  • Manage weekly inventory and stocking of laboratory supplies; research alternative sources to reduce cost without compromising quality.
  • Manage finished product retain system.
  • Train new personnel and existing laboratory staff on new procedures and techniques.
  • Conduct instrument and method development; perform validation programs on new processes and procedures.
  • Assist Quality Supervisors and Quality Managers with special projects as directed.
Total Rewards
  • Pay starting at $29.50 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $31.03 per hour after the 6-month anniversary.

Requirements
  • Science background;
    Chemistry, Biology or Food Science-related degree preferred.
  • Laboratory experience in a dairy, food or beverage manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to handle a stressful, fast-paced, and rapidly-changing environment.
  • Multitasking ability with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills:
    Advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Infinity

    QS, Minitab, SAP.
  • Excellent training capabilities and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, good problem-solving abilities and strong teamwork commitment.
  • Ability to work any shift and/or overtime as required.
