Summary:
The Principal Product Quality Engineer is a senior technical quality leader responsible for defining and driving the quality strategy for ADT's Monitoring as a Service (MaaS) platform. This role owns end-to-end verification strategy for mission‑critical workflows spanning cloud services, APIs, microservices, partner integrations, monitoring center operations, mobile applications, customer‑facing products, and operational readiness processes. The ideal candidate combines deep hands‑on quality engineering expertise, systems thinking, automation leadership, and cross‑functional influence to ensure the monitoring platform is reliable, scalable, compliant, and ready for real‑world operational use.
Duties and Responsibilities:Principal‑Level Quality Strategy & Technical Leadership
Define the end‑to‑end product quality strategy for the monitoring platform, including quality objectives, verification standards, risk‑based test coverage, and release readiness expectations.
Serve as the senior technical authority for platform quality across distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, partner integrations, monitoring center workflows, and customer‑facing experiences.
Influence architecture, product, and engineering decisions by identifying quality risks early and translating them into actionable technical guidance.
Establish scalable quality practices that are adopted across multiple engineering teams and product domains.
Own quality validation across the complete monitoring platform lifecycle, including onboarding, account creation, event processing, escalation workflows, dispatch, deactivation, and operational handoffs.
Develop comprehensive test strategies that validate customer journeys across services, APIs, data pipelines, mobile applications, web applications, and monitoring center workflows.
Validate integrations with internal systems, monitoring platforms, third‑party partners, and external service providers.
Ensure platform capabilities meet business, operational, compliance, security, reliability, and scalability requirements.
Author and review detailed technical test specifications, verification plans, risk assessments, and release readiness criteria for new platform capabilities.
Translate product requirements, architecture designs, workflow diagrams, and operational requirements into comprehensive quality coverage.
Identify functional, operational reliability, performance, compliance, and edge‑case scenarios before development is complete.
Create reusable test design patterns, quality frameworks, and documentation standards that improve consistency across teams.
Design, develop, and guide automated testing approaches for APIs, microservices, integrations, workflows, data pipelines, and user interfaces.
Build and mature scalable automation frameworks supporting functional, integration, contract, end‑to‑end, regression, performance, resilience, and smoke testing.
Develop reusable tools and utilities that increase testing efficiency, repeatability, observability, and coverage.
Partner with Dev Ops and engineering teams to establish automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, Monitoring Operations, Dev Ops, Support, Security, Compliance, and external partners.
Lead test readiness reviews, quality reviews, release risk assessments, and operational readiness discussions.
Mentor engineers and quality practitioners on automation design, test strategy, system validation, and risk‑based quality practices.
Champion a culture where quality is built into the development lifecycle and validated continuously rather than inspected only at the end.
