Part‑Time Retail Sales Associate

Pay range: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour. Commission structure paid on each transaction processed; earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.50 per hour over hourly rate.

• Best working hours: most stores open 9AM-6PM, many stores closed on Sundays.

We are seeking entry‑level, part‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The pawn broker / retail sales associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. They greet, engage, and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions, assisting with customer inquiries and problem resolution.

The associate works with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

• Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintain display of merchandise.
• Perform sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Effectively communicate legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partner with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully complete the assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time (standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting).
• Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
• Employees may be asked to assist a customer on exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Should be able to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must have ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2‑8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance.
