• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist customers with bakery purchases
• Clean shelving and display cases; clean and rotate self-serve displays in the bakery area
• Take special orders from customers and coordinate with the Baker on items to bake or decorate
• Assist with department cleanliness, including cleaning floors as needed
• Support a fast-paced grocery store environment with physical requirements (lifting, standing, walking, kneeling)

• Read and write Spanish/English; interact with the general public and co-workers
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos
• Write simple correspondence
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds
• Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food

• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs various tasks within the bakery. Responsibilities include friendly, courteous service to customers, assisting with bakery purchases, and collaborating with the Baker on items to bake or decorate.

The Bakery Clerk will help maintain department cleanliness and assist with cleaning and organizing, including hosing down floors as needed. This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced grocery store environment and comply with safety and food handling requirements.
