Overview

As an At Your Service Center Colleague, you are at the heart of delivering a seamless and personalized shopping experience. You’ll support all At Your Service activities, including Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPS), merchandise returns, order pickups, and other assigned tasks while upholding Macy’s service standards.

This role requires strong multitasking abilities, problem‑solving, attention to detail, and a customer‑first mindset. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment where flexibility is key, including working a variety of shifts such as nights, weekends, and holidays.

It goes beyond being a cashier. The customer is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting so customers feel welcome.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Begin with a positive example, wear your name badge with pride, greet teammates, and ensure the At Your Service area is clean and ready for customers. Review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, and stay updated on trends and promotions.
  • Lead by action: welcome customers with genuine hospitality, make eye contact, start friendly conversations, assist customers in all aspects of total store fulfillment including BOPS, be proficient in all required systems, and keep the collection area organized.
  • Maintain a shoppable space by recovering merchandise, keeping pickup and return areas clean, and ensuring timely completion and curbside delivery of BOPS orders.
  • Finish strong: share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have all they need, and end with a sincere thank‑you, often walking the package around and using the customer’s name.
  • Support one another with honesty, care, and collaboration to better serve customers and communities.
  • Strive for excellence daily, achieving sales goals and learning from each other to deliver individual and store results.

Full‑time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part‑time colleagues are scheduled 12‑24 hours per week. All schedules include weekend shifts as part of the requirements. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

Physical Requirements
  • Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, reaching above eye level.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Frequent use of computers, handheld equipment, and cash register to process transactions.
