The Assistant Team Leader provides leadership for the front‑end of the store. Responsibilities include associate development, customer service, asset protection and store maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist the Store Team Leader with managing payroll budgets, expenses, store banking, shrink reduction, and reporting to achieve financial and operational goals.
- Ensure store standards, Redbook compliance, and company programs meet operational expectations.
- Maintain front‑end, entrance, and exterior of the building properly.
- Provide daily tasks to associates and ensure productivity.
- Organize and maintain office areas.
- Support Door-to-Floor process and merchandising initiatives.
- Complete monthly Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) and alarm test, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and assess changes from meetings.
Ensure customer service standards meet company expectations. - Implement price changes as required by the company.
- Coach, train, develop, evaluate, supervise, and schedule store associates.
- Perform Team Leader duties to open and close the store when needed.
- Provide leadership concerning donation programs and Ollie’s Army sign‑ups and memberships.
- Maintain proper hiring, recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Complete any additional responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of supervisory retail experience in a mid‑size to large retail or service‑oriented business.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
- English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.
- Professional work environment management skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to preserve confidentiality.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organizational and prioritization skills within strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes.
- Effective communication and delegation.
- Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers and associates.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
