Overview
We are looking for an energetic, performance-focused Director of Sales and Marketing to oversee and direct the revenue-generating efforts of our full-service, nationally branded hotel. With a heavy emphasis on the Group Room Segment
, this position is ideal for a strategic professional who excels in a fast-paced setting and consistently produces measurable revenue growth, market share gains, and high-level results. The successful candidate will be an experienced hospitality sales leader who understands group sales strategy, recognizes opportunities quickly, and effectively converts them into booked business.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan designed to maximize revenue, centered on the Group Room Segment
- Guide, coach, and motivate the sales team to meet and surpass revenue targets
- Prospect and secure key accounts, target industries, and new markets to increase group bookings and market share
Market Analysis & Strategy
- Perform competitive analysis to identify share-shifting opportunities and position the hotel as a top choice for group business
- Track market trends, demand generators, and industry activity to adjust strategies proactively
- Develop and maintain relationships with major clients, meeting planners, and industry partners
Revenue Generation
- Partner with the Revenue Management team to optimize pricing strategies, inventory control, and group booking pace
- Design and execute promotions, packages, and campaigns that attract group business
- Conduct proactive outreach, including sales calls, site tours, trade shows, and networking events
Marketing & Branding
- Direct marketing initiatives that enhance the hotel’s visibility and reputation within the group segment
- Coordinate with the brand marketing team to maintain alignment with national campaigns and brand standards
- Utilize digital platforms, social media, and marketing channels to promote group offerings
Performance Metrics
- Measure and report on sales performance, revenue growth, and market share to hotel leadership
- Establish clear goals and accountability standards for the sales team
- Continuously review and improve sales processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field preferred
- 5–7 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry with a strong group sales background
- Demonstrated success in capturing market share and growing revenue in a competitive market
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical capability with data-driven decision-making skills
- Experience using CRM platforms, sales reporting tools, and revenue management practices
- Motivated, goal-oriented professional with a passion for achieving results
