Position Summary:

In this role, you're accountable for all aspects of building, selling, and executing joint business plans that deliver the objectives of the customer team. The Business Development Manager (BDM) must understand the implications their plans have on brand strategies and the broader marketplace. The BDM will lead Joint Business Planning and work alongside key customer contacts to gain alignment on goals and plans.

You'll then collaborate with the customer and internal stakeholders to execute the plan and check/adjust as necessary. Internally, the BDM is responsible for leading key planning processes and engagements, including Annual Operating Plan and other tasks as needed to ensure alignment with HQ Strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Net Sales, Contribution, and Category Share for assigned customer team.
  • Adhere to Trade Promotion and Pricing guardrails.
  • Achieve JBP goals that are mutually agreed upon with assigned customer.
  • Collaboratively Build and Implement the Customer Business Plan.
  • Engage Customer in Joint Business Planning to gain alignment to plans.
  • Manage Delivery of Plan and Business Objectives (Check and Adjust).

Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years progressive experience in customer management (sales) and customer development, or equivalent in other business functions.
  • Proficient in business analytics, budgeting, and sales team management.
  • Experience presenting to Executive Level staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of forecasting, supply and demand processes, shelf reset experience, business planning processes and tools.
  • Experience working in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry and a range of traditional trade channels.
  • Strong record of exceeding sales objectives.
  • Track record of developing and executing unique solutions and innovation to customers.
  • Digital commerce experience preferred.
