Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Senior Firewall Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Firewall Engineer, you will be part of the Information Security Engineering department supporting cross‑functional teams. The ideal candidate will have analytical thinking, proactive problem‑solving skills, and excellent collaboration abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Firewall Engineer
Location: Irving, TX
What's the Job?- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures using industry‑leading firewall platforms such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cisco.
- Lead and support firewall migration projects, including policy analysis, configuration translation, and deployment utilizing vendor‑specific tools like Expedition, Forti Converter, and Smart Move.
- Build and deploy new network security infrastructures, including greenfield implementations and expanding existing environments.
- Perform security policy reviews, rulebase optimization, and threat prevention tuning to ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues across multi‑vendor environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- 4+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering, demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in network security engineering, focusing on enterprise‑grade firewall platforms and secure network architecture.
- 2+ years of experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls and security management systems across Palo Alto Networks.
- 2+ years of experience in security policy design, rulebase optimization, and hardening multi‑vendor firewall environments to meet compliance standards.
- Experience with Panorama including template stacks, device groups, policy hierarchy, logging, reporting, and role‑based control.
