The starting pay range for this position per hour is $22.00 - $24.00. The full pay range per hour is $22.00 - $37.40.
Pay is based on several factors, such as labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. About Asset ProtectionAssets Protection (AP) teams keep guests, team members and the brand secure, leading through crisis events to protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft, and ensuring product availability. They build relationships with store leaders, public safety officials, and law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities- Use surveillance and intelligence‑led tactics to maintain a safe environment and reduce shortages.
- Monitor guests with Target’s video surveillance system and identify potential theft risks.
- Implement AP practices and routines to reduce and prevent shortage.
- Document cases accurately and comprehensively.
- Investigate and resolve external theft and fraud, including apprehensions.
- Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by greeting, helping, and thanking guests, and by supporting team efforts.
- Maintain product availability—prevent theft, resolve shortages, and report trends using technology and surveillance.
- Respond to security incidents, submit incident reports, and promote a culture of physical security and safety.
- Demonstrate inclusivity and respectful teamwork, and maintain positive relationships with public safety officials and law enforcement.
- Represent Target’s interests in legal proceedings when required.
- Perform other duties as business needs dictate.
- Enjoy interacting with guests and teammates.
- Thrive in a fast‑moving, physically demanding role that requires teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem‑solving.
- Open to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensure and other legal requirements.
- Maintain a welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
- Communicate effectively on multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and related technology.
- Work independently and with a team, managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
- Remain focused, composed, and productive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Climb up and down ladders, and move merchandise up to 40 pounds without assistance.
- Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other conditions, including drive‑up, carryout, and other roles.
- Know how to apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
- Remain mobile for the duration of a shift.
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies and best practices.
