Technician, General Facilities Maintenance – Journeyman Electrician

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; gathering capital expense information; recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determining replacement needs; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment;

providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities.

Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs); conducting price comparison of parts and travel related costs; ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders; recording purchases and usage; submitting warranty claims; complying with OSHA and EPA regulations; ensuring quality work complies with regulations;

ensuring contractors follow Walmart standards; identifying and reporting deficiencies; unloading and storing equipment; and transporting equipment between facilities.

Leads & participates in teams by using/share resources; determining customer needs and priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, support, modeling adaptation.

Develops, communicates, implements processes to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers; analyzing information; monitoring progress; addressing improvement opportunities.

Demonstrates promotes compliance with company policies by explaining, guiding, demonstrates; implementing action plans; using Open Door Policy; assisting management with ethics issues.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00
