Hvac Technician

Description

Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, walk‑ins, and split systems

Perform diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components to identify system issues

Conduct preventive maintenance, including filter changes, belt replacements, coil cleaning, and system inspections

Troubleshoot and repair compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, control boards, and refrigerant circuits

Charge, recover, and handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

Calibrate and repair control systems, including VFDs, BAS/BMS components, and low‑voltage controls

Document all work performed, including parts used, system readings, and service recommendations

Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding system status and repair needs

Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies

• 3–5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience preferred
• EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal required)
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC/R issues independently
• Experience with commercial equipment such as RTUs, VAVs, chillers, freezers, and ice machines
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, confined spaces)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Intermediate Level

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Irving,TX.
