Position: Material Handler, Warehouse (32141)

Position Summary

As a Material Handler at CEC, you'll play an important role in helping construction projects run smoothly. Your job will involve moving tools and materials around job sites and company facilities. You’ll also help with deliveries, inventory, and keeping everything organized and safe. This is a hands‑on role that requires good planning, problem‑solving, and a strong focus on safety. This is a safety‑sensitive position.

  • Deliver and pick up materials as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks safely.
  • Keep track of inventory and help with regular counts.
  • Organize and clean tools, materials, and the warehouse.
  • Drive company vehicles when required.
  • Maintain paperwork like logs and transfer forms.
  • Help keep shop vehicles in good condition.
  • Support building and fleet maintenance when needed.
  • Follow safety rules and keep your workspace clean and organized.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.

Duties And Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Construction experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Forklift and DOT certifications (or willingness to get certified).
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
  • Able to read and understand basic English instructions.
  • Comfortable with basic math like counting and measuring.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, or night shifts if needed.

This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switch gear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi‑story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
