Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Full‑time Technician position in Amarillo, TX, US.
Technician II – SecurityPotentially part of a mission‑critical data center project, this role focuses on the installation, integration, and maintenance of advanced physical security solutions, including Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) and Video Management Systems (VMS).
Job SummaryAs a Security Installation Technician, you will perform startup, installation, closeout, and service of jobs while coordinating with project managers, field engineers, and lead technicians. You must adhere to Method of Procedure (MOP) and maintain zero‑downtime protocols, ensuring compliance with building and electrical codes.
Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test equipment according to specifications and applicable codes.
- Train apprentices on company procedures, systems, and techniques.
- Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and lead technicians to ensure system compliance.
- Communicate daily with the installation supervisor regarding project status, delays, and requirements.
- Handle closeout and turnover of jobs to the client and service department.
- Repair, restore, and test all systems per specifications and applicable codes.
- Maintain accurate written records and submit them on time and in full.
- Maintain professional licensing as required by state and local jurisdiction.
- Work at required heights using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, or other equipment.
- Work in confined spaces as necessary.
- Shift work may be required (significant overtime).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass pre‑employment screening.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security systems integration.
- Capability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite.
- Aptitude for learning system programming.
- Associate’s degree in a technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial security systems integration.
- Proper hand and power tool operation and safety training.
- Problem‑solving skills under minimal supervision.
- Organizational skills for effective implementation.
- Project completion on time and within budget.
- Strong written and verbal communication ability.
- Effective teamwork and cross‑cultural interaction.
- Ability to adapt to evolving organizational or external environments.
- Limited Energy Journey Technician Certificate (preferred).
- Working Hours:
6/6/5 schedule—two weeks of 6‑10 hour days (Mon‑Sat) followed by one week of 5‑10 hour days (Mon‑Fri). Overtime expected, with the possibility of a fourth week off. - Relocation assistance or sign‑on bonus: available (DOE).
- Travel: minimal, on‑site only.
