We work with industry professionals and end users from the conceptual stage of projects to provide energy efficient, value‑added solutions to their complex problems.

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced HVAC Field Technicians with the ability to travel to customer sites to start up, commission, troubleshoot, and repair the equipment we represent. This full‑time role is ideal for an energetic self‑starter who can work independently, has strong diagnostic skills, and can manage projects for commissioning and coordination of personnel and services. The Field Technician will support our equipment sales to data centers and will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Service Coordinators, and customers.

Fundamental

Functions & Responsibilities
  • Manage projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
  • Coach and review the work of lower‑level professionals
  • Tackle complex opportunities and provide solutions
  • Start‑up, commission, and support BMS on equipment we represent
  • Perform factory start‑up, commissioning, and warranty service on Data Center equipment and systems
  • Inspect electrical and mechanical components to ensure peak performance
  • Interpret engineering drawings relative to layout, location and operation of the system(s)
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors and owners
  • Suggest additional services that are beneficial to customer
  • Collaborate in a team‑based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
  • Work safely daily and ensure all safety measures are taken
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, air flow, and related theory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Clear communication of problems and solutions
  • Technical ability to explain product functionality to customers
  • Planning, organization, analytical, and decision‑making skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Strong documentation and problem‑solving skills
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Ability to travel substantially within the operational region
  • Flexible schedule may be required
  • Willingness to work in adverse working conditions
The Required Profile
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Vertiv trained or certified
  • Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus 5+ years’ experience as a Service Technician in a commercial environment
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computer (e.g., smartphone, iPad)
  • Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Master license)
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions including mechanical equipment rooms, exposure to noise, extreme weather, electrical shock hazard, and elevated heights
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and use a ladder or scaffold as needed
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple duties
