Position Summary This position performs assignments and works under general supervision of a Professional. Gains exposure to career in area assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Download documents, organize drawings/specifications, and set-up project folder for job.
- Assist in the creation of electrical installation drawings and models using Revit software.
- Learn procedures for building systems and construction methods.
- 3D Model BOM Extraction/Verification.
- Analyzes and interprets detailed drawings and specifications.
- Collaborates with the team to help determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
- Exposure to Bluebeam and on-screen take-off procedures.
- Attend coordination meetings and grasp thorough understanding of clearing conflicts.
- Submittals exposure.
- Walks jobs, learns trade inside and out, and utilizes knowledge to enhance overall company performance.
- Continue to grow through strategic mentoring, training and development opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, and/or Construction Management discipline.
- 3.00 GPA or higher.
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of Bluebeam and Accubid a plus.
- Highly motivated.
- Good people skills.
- Ability to learn new software/technology.
- Attention to detail with exemplary intra-personal skills and willingness to assist management with a can‑do attitude.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Firm believer in safety.
Work may be performed inside or outside with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and weather elements in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces. The job may involve working on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other typical heavy construction exposures. The role also operates in an office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
PhysicalDemands
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, standing, and stretching.
- Must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Move about on feet regularly; sit for extended periods of time.
- Requires ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- May require travel.
- Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
- Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone.
- Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required, including night shifts as needed. Must be on‑call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
- Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
