Locksmith
Install and maintain a variety of locking and security devices and systems in a properly functioning state and in compliance with District, city and state guidelines to provide safety and protection.
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED, preferred
Valid Texas Class C driver's license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills
Working knowledge and ability to install and operate locks and locking mechanisms
Working knowledge of security systems, hard keys, and keyless entry systems
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
Ability to utilize technology resources relevant to position
Experience
Minimum three years locksmith experience, and preferably in educational environment

Keys, blanks, picks, security equipment, test equipment, hand and power tools, ladders, computer, peripherals, light truck or van

Motion:
Continual walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching overhead, keyboarding and use of mouse, driving
Lifting:
Lifting and carrying up to 55 pounds without assistance, more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance, on a daily basis

Visual acuity
Environment:
Work inside and outside, on slippery and uneven surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions and in small spaces; frequent irregular and prolonged hours, on call duty; frequent district wide travel
