Sales Branch Manager | Commercial Plumbing – Irving, Texas

Position Summary

The Sales Branch Manager leads a team of plumbing service professionals responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings. This role works closely with service technicians, install technicians, dispatch, and other department leaders to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting operational goals. Serving as a senior representative of the organization, this position communicates directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure clear and accurate coordination of service work, project status, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations of the Plumbing Service/ Sales Department.
  • Schedule, direct, and provide technical support to technicians to meet service demand and customer expectations.
  • Interview, hire, and train technicians based on workload and business needs.
  • Supervise technicians in the repair, installation, start‑up, and operation of plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Review workmanship to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to company standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and establish improvement goals for technicians.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing training programs covering service techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Hold regular group and one‑on‑one meetings with technicians for training, coaching, and communication.
  • Coordinate with dispatch to ensure proper staffing based on skill level, efficiency, and training needs.
  • Communicate daily with dispatch regarding project details, estimated completion times, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Maintain communication with vendors and factory representatives regarding warranty claims, product recalls, operational issues, and equipment concerns.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, goals, and objectives to support department profitability.
  • Review work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure parts are ordered promptly to meet job deadlines.
  • Enforce company and department policies across all technicians.
  • Oversee service vehicles to ensure proper maintenance, operation, and inventory levels.
  • Keep technicians current on product training and maintain training records.
  • Generate sales leads and promote maintenance and service agreements.
  • Prepare estimates and bids for contract projects and service work.
  • Manage larger installation, start‑up, and commissioning projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departmental leaders to support company objectives.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support efficient department operations.
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service and sales skills.
  • Minimum of five years of plumbing management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of plumbing trades and systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and train others on manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to plumbing systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of local codes and problem‑solving ability.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build team performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general business software.
  • Self‑motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Professional, personable, and able to instill pride in workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and background.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 annually, DOE.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, gas card, and company cell phone.
