McCormick & Company, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Planner reporting to a Maintenance/Engineering Manager. This role is located in Dallas, TX.
Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production equipment at the facility.
Responsibilities- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in all maintenance crafts, including basic electrical, mechanics, welding, and machine shop.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to closely interact with co-workers in and outside the Maintenance Department.
- Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and correct problems of a varied nature on a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be a certified forklift operator.
- Must be agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and use ladders to reach equipment.
- Ability to work overtime daily and weekends, sometimes with minimal notice; flexibility with shift hours is required.
- Ability to work at heights up to 45 ft. on material handling equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership.
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3–5 years related experience.
- Minimum of one year experience supervising employees in a manufacturing/production/industrial environment.
- Minimum of one year experience leading others through projects or initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to work across functions and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem‑solving capabilities to assess risk.
- Demonstrated understanding of the financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components, and inventory.
- Experience leading large teams to support business initiatives.
- Dynamic self‑starter able to work independently and use sound judgment to solve complex problems with incomplete and/or ambiguous information, and to proactively initiate action steps.
- Experience handling multiple projects at once and working under pressure.
- Collaborative problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to propose and implement improvements to systems, methods of work, and analysis methods, continually adapting them to business requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience in food processing.
- Experience in plumbing, millwright, and carpentry.
- Welding experience including basic welding certification.
- PLC and industrial electrical experience.
- Robotic and conventional palletizer experience.
- Dense‑phase pneumatic conveying experience.
- Hands‑on experience with new equipment installation.
- Experience with boilers, chillers, and air compressors.
- Trade school, certificate, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
