Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a skilled and reliable Rental and Repair Technician to support the maintenance, repair, transportation, and delivery of rental equipment and tools. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs while ensuring equipment is delivered safely, professionally, and on time. The ideal candidate is committed to providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe work environment, and supporting the operational needs of the rental department.
Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Transport rental equipment, tools, and materials to and from customer job sites and company locations while safely operating company vehicles.
- Load, secure, unload, and inspect rental equipment during deliveries and pickups to ensure safe transportation and proper operation.
- Provide professional customer service during equipment deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
- Maintain complete and accurate work orders and electronic documentation of all maintenance, repairs, deliveries, and pickups.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and work environment.
- Ensure repair and preventive maintenance schedules are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while operating equipment, performing repairs, and driving company vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to safely operate company vehicles.
- 1–2 years of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles, equipment, or similar machinery, or completion of a trade school program.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong customer service, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that are not always climate controlled and may include heat and humidity.
- Noise level may be loud at times.
- Must be able to safely lift, move, load, and unload rental equipment and tools.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
