Alarm Technician
Specializes in fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and low‑voltage security systems across commercial and residential environments. Responsible for installation, programming, troubleshooting, inspections, and preventive maintenance on multiple security platforms.
Responsibilities- Install, program, and service fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems for 80+ locations annually.
- Diagnose alarm panel communication failures and low‑voltage wiring issues, achieving first‑visit repair success rates above 90%.
- Conduct annual inspections, preventive maintenance, and operational testing, reducing recurring service requests.
- Prepare digital service reports, deficiency documentation, and inspection records with company software.
- Coordinate emergency service requests and after‑hours repairs within four‑hour service windows.
- Train junior technicians on wiring standards, panel programming, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain inventory reconciliation, service reporting, and customer documentation processes.
- Perform system inspections and NFPA compliance testing, achieving high passing rates during regulatory evaluations.
- Lead installation, programming, inspection, and servicing of fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems across 120+ commercial facilities annually.
- Diagnose complex electrical and communication failures involving IP, cellular, and central station technologies.
- Lead compliance inspections aligned with NFPA 70, NFPA 72, and OSHA regulations, maintaining audit readiness.
- Coordinate project execution with inspectors, contractors, vendors, and field technicians.
- Mentor technicians on advanced troubleshooting, fire alarm programming, and safety procedures.
- Extend system competence across multiple platforms such as Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, Vista, Adco, and more.
- Certified electrician or security systems technician, with 10+ years of experience preferred.
- Proficiency in NFPA 70, NFPA 72, and OSHA regulations; experience with fire alarm programming, panel commissioning, and system diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of low‑voltage wiring, CCTV, access control, and network cabling.
- Experience with Honeywell, Bosch, DSC, Vista, Adco, and other leading panel brands.
- Demonstrated ability to complete installations safely and on time, meeting or exceeding schedule goals.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills; high first‑visit repair rates and ability to resolve complex failures.
- Proficient in reading electrical diagrams, blueprints, and system schematics.
- Strong customer service orientation and documentation skills.
- Capability to train and mentor less experienced technicians.
