The Backend Developer will be part of the Digital Technology Team. They are responsible for design, implementation and ongoing enhancements of digital products and the digital experience. The developer should have a strong and evolving mastery of RESTful API development with Java Spring Boot / Node.js. This includes hands-on programming, participating in design sessions, code reviews, system testing during development phases, following best industry practices and publishing API documentation.

• Senior Backend Services / API Developer skilled in server-side programming.
• Experienced with JavaScript on Node.js Runtime and Java / Spring Boot technologies.
• Experience in AWS Cloud with services like Lambda, API Gateway, Cloud Watch, S3, ECS, etc.
• Backend developers with Java, C# or Python experience are welcome if fluent in JavaScript and able to work with Mongo

• Full-stack developers fluent in JavaScript are also welcome.

• Design APIs, develop shippable code, documentation and unit tests for new features.
• Collaborate with API Developers, Team Leads and Architects to deliver features via reusable RESTful APIs.
• Work with Quality, Product and Cloud Engineering teams to keep digital assets functional, secure and aligned with business needs.
• Perform pair programming, communicate ideas clearly, assist in systems integration, performance testing and product releases.
• Implement policies, roles, data access controls, monitoring events, and resolve system and data issues for continuous API functioning.

• Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of API / server-side development experience (JavaScript, Node.js, Java, C#, AWS, Lambda, ECS, Serverless, Mongo

  SQL data modeling, RDBMS modeling).
• 4 years of experience with cloud platforms (prefer AWS: EC2 and serverless Lambda), developing microservices, CI/CD, Docker, message queues and background task management.
• 4 years of experience in developing No
  
  SQL databases and data modeling; proficient in querying Mongo
  
  DB.
• Knowledge of API security frameworks, token management and user access control (OAuth, JWT, OpenAPI, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript and Java.
• Experience with API Gateway, CDNs, API performance testing, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
• Ability to work in an Agile / SCRUM environment.
• Self-directed with a startup mindset; eager to learn technology and solve problems.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
