Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer
Körber is a global innovator that develops future technologies. The Firmware Engineering Lead will oversee end‑to‑end development of machine control firmware, leading firmware teams and collaborating with electrical, mechanical and test engineers.
Responsibilities- Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop control algorithms for machine control.
- Lead teams of firmware engineers through all stages of a project.
- Support bid and proposal teams by creating labor hours and material costs for customer projects.
- Collaborate with test engineers to verify firmware in live mail‑processing environments.
- Participate in a high‑performing, multi‑site, multi‑program team.
- Oversee all phases of developing firmware for various applications.
- Experience leading a team of firmware engineers through a project.
- Experience bidding time and materials for firmware projects.
- Experience working with EE hardware engineers to develop and implement control applications.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Experience with Altera Nios II and Micro Chip dsPIC processors and their respective IDEs.
- Familiarity with source control software such as Dev Ops, Git Hub.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3‑5 years of firmware development experience creating algorithms, troubleshooting issues, and finding solutions for control systems.

Hybrid work setting based in Irving, Texas with up to 25% domestic travel. Role is located in Irving, TX (USA) and includes travel.
