This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best‑in‑class software experiences. The candidate is a self‑motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization, taking responsibility for software artifacts that adhere to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact on the customer experience. The role requires proficiency with the agile software development lifecycle and Dev Ops principles.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, operate and maintain products.
- Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production‑ready and testable code.
- Create optimal designs that adhere to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems and contexts affected.
- Perform analysis on failures, propose design changes and encourage operational improvements.
- Make sound design and coding decisions that keep customer experience in the forefront.
- Take feedback from code reviews and apply changes to meet standards.
- Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
- Ensure all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
- Exhibit relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards.
- Embrace emerging technology opportunities and contribute to best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Review tasks critically, ensuring proper prioritization and sizing for incremental delivery; anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before escalation.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Three to five years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience in Java EE design and development.
- Hands‑on experience in Microservices/API development using Java/Spring Boot.
- Experience in streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and Spark.
- Experience with No
SQL databases like Cassandra or Mongo
DB. - Experience working on React.js projects.
- Familiarity with React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux).
- Familiarity with contemporary EcmaScript specifications.
- Experience in cloud‑native development in Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Thorough understanding of features, impacted users, flows and feature purpose.
- Proficiency with agile software development lifecycle and Dev Ops principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team.
- Will be required to work from a U.S. Bank location at least three (3) days per week.
