Lead Software Engineer (Java/Kafka)

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Lead Software Engineer (Java/Kafka) with at least 15+ years' experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. Charlotte - NC

You must be legally authorized to work in the USA without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Roles/Responsibilities:

* Work independently with minimal supervision, taking full ownership of assigned tasks from initiation to resolution

* The candidate should be ready to work in the client's office for at least 3 days a week.

* Minimum 20+ years of experience

* Proficiency in Java 17 with experience with spring boot based microservice development

* As a Lead engineer candidate should implement critical infrastructure that forms the backbone of our development ecosystem

* Candidate is responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of microservices architecture. Experience in Design patterns, microservices.

* Experience with Kafka, streaming.

* Proficiency in Java 17 with experience with spring boot based microservice development

* Good hands-on experience with kafka

* Need for a primarily back-end-focused Java engineer (Java/services/database)

* Other required experience includes react, Cloud and Test Automation

* Open Shift/Kubernetes experience preferred

Required Qualifications:

* The candidate should be ready to work from client office for at least 3 days a week.

* Proficiency in Java 17 with experience with spring boot based microservice development

* Good hands-on experience with Kafka

* Need for a primarily back-end-focused Java engineer (Java/services/database)

* Open Shift/Kubernetes experience preferred

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $102,600- $162,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
