Software Engineer, Agentic AI​/Hybrid​/Irving, TX

Our client, one of largest global Financial Services companies, is hiring for a contract Software Engineer, AI Concepts
. This is a hybrid position (3 days per week) and can be located in either Irving, TX, Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC.

In this role, you will engineer and deploy production-ready automation (scalable agentic systems to automate processes and workflows), evaluate AI model performance, and implement best practices for robust and reliable AI-driven automation. The ideal candidate is a combination of software engineer and data scientist with strong software development skills—particularly in Python—comprehensive SDLC experience, and a solid track record in building and orchestrating agentic AI and automation systems, using tools like ADK, Langraph, or similar

Contract Duration: 12 Months to Start; potential to extend/convert

Required

Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
• 2+ years of strong understanding of multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, Open Shift) and hands‑on experience with cloud‑native development and/or Cloud migration of applications
• Experience and knowledge of retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) and/or agentic workflows in generative AI applications
• 5-10 years of engineering experience (could include Java Engineers who have transitioned to Python
• 2+ years of Python engineering
• AI concepts (know frameworks for building agents, tech agnostic)
• Proven experience and knowledge in SDLC

• Review and analyze complex multi‑faced, larger scale or longer‑term Software Engineering challenges that require in‑depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi‑faced situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables
• Accelerate business use cases via Agentic AI with focus on using frameworks like Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Lang Chain
• Have strong background in MLOps and LLM
• Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meeting non‑functional requirements with each release
• Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Client’s technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architectures to enable application migration paths to target architecture. For example, Mainframe to Java migration; or .Net and Java version migration
• Identify and recommend opportunities for driving resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
• Conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direct
• Interpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with low to moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk.
