Backend Developer, Cloud Engineer - Software, DevOps
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Analyst/Developer – Specialty 3. The work will be performed 100% onsite in Irving, Texas. This is a long-term, 24-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $115.00/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401(k), and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Senior Backend / Integration Engineer to develop scalable backend services supporting next-generation simulation, digital twin, and autonomous technology platforms. In this role, you will design cloud-native microservices, build APIs, and integrate enterprise systems with advanced simulation environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance backend solutions that support complex digital engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend microservices and APIs (Python preferred) to integrate cloud services, simulation platforms, and digital twin environments.
- Build REST, gRPC, and event-driven APIs while implementing asynchronous workflows and distributed system integrations.
- Develop integration adapters, contract testing, automation frameworks, and observability solutions to improve platform reliability.
- Collaborate with architects, platform engineers, product owners, and external technology partners to define API contracts and integration strategies.
- Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, operational readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong experience developing backend microservices and REST/gRPC APIs using Python (preferred).
- Experience with cloud-native services, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, observability, and integration testing.
- Experience with AI coding platforms and modern software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, or similar simulation platforms.
- Experience with OpenUSD/USD, Digital Twin technologies, or robotics and autonomy systems.
- Experience with object storage, artifact management, and cloud-native architectures.
- Technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration experience.
