Job Title

Interview Process: 1 hour video interview – will be technical and including coding challenge

Notes:
Sr. or Lead level Java API Developer (not looking for a classic Architect, if candidate is Sr with no Lead experience – can groom into a Lead)

Heavy hands-on development, architect skills (big picture, provide consultation for team)

API focus, building microservices, architecture

Open to Sr/Lead Full Stack Engineer as well (UI and API skills)

Will partner with team offshore (mainly in India)

Must be flexible to do collaboration, set guidelines, provide mentorship with offshore

Help with Small Business Program for USB (want to be a market leader in small business), USB has acquired some small businesses

Come in and help build lots of capabilities for small business customers

Working on Marketplace, a portal where small business customers log in and shop for products they want to sign up for (ex. EC (sp?) tax, Pfizer (sp?) taxes – Software and Accounting, integrate with Quick Books, analysis – buy equipment, put all numbers together, decide if can afford or not, helps make decision without walking into a branch)

Must Have:

• Java, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, API, microservices
• Exposure to Apigee or other gateways (at least have concepts down)
• oAuth 2.0 for API
• Kafka (ideal to have, but flexible if no experience)

Nice to Have:

• Kibana for logging
• App Dynamics for monitoring

Description:

* 5+ years of experience in Java EE design and development preferred Java 8 but not mandatory.

* 5+ years of experience in REST API & Springboot design and development

* Knowledge in API security risks and microservices resilience

* Good to have GraphQL implementation knowledge

* Experienced in Git, Jira, Jenkins, and test automation

* Experience in agile methodology, and SCRUM/KABAN

* Experienced in Apigee, Istio, Kubernetes, Kafka.

* Exposure to Microsoft Azure is preferred.

* Experienced in financial application development preferred

* Good communication and collaboration skills to drive onshore/offshore development activities

* Self-motivated and keen to learn new knowledge

* Thorough understanding of a feature, the users impacted, the flows impacted and feature's purpose

* Ability to analyze the bigger picture, identifying and prioritizing with the aim to consider more than one domain within an analysis

* Thorough understanding of the business model in relation to current product focus area

* Adept with agile software development lifecycle and Dev Ops principles

* Ability to collaborate on all aspects of product development

* Technically proficient and able to define and fulfill solutions requirements for end user

* Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
