Position: Automation Tester (Playwright with Python)

Purple Drive

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with hands-on experience in test automation, SQL, and end-to-end testing across backend and UI layers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive in identifying quality gaps, and comfortable working in fast-paced Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with Python.
  • Perform UI, backend, and API testing to ensure system reliability, functionality, and performance.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and test verification.
  • Validate data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and data engineers to understand requirements and define test strategies.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; work closely with teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in test planning, test case design, and code reviews.
  • Ensure high test coverage, reusability, and maintainability of automation frameworks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in software quality engineering or testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python-based test automation using Playwright.
  • Experience with UI automation tools, preferably Playwright with Python.
  • Solid experience in API/backend testing, including REST APIs and tools such as Postman or similar.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience testing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Good understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Azure environments, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or similar services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to Databricks is preferred.
