- Serve as the primary contact for customers to place orders, request updates, and adjust delivery schedules
- Enter and update orders in Command / Dispatch, confirming mix designs, quantities, time windows, and site access details
- Proactively communicate with customers about potential delays, plant changes, or delivery constraints
- Develop strong contractor relationships by resolving jobsite issues and ensuring consistent, reliable service
- Use Command / Dispatch software to manage orders, allocate trucks, and monitor real-time delivery activity
- Track and document daily metrics such as truck utilization, return-to-plant exceptions, washout times, and delays
- Verify accuracy of batch tickets, delivery logs, and driver instructions
- Support next-day production planning by reviewing upcoming orders and communicating projected loads to plants
- Ensure drivers follow DOT, company, and site-specific safety procedures at all times
- Monitor driver hours-of-service and availability to maintain compliance and prevent violations
- Escalate safety concerns, near misses, and jobsite issues promptly to management
What we would like from you
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and dispatching software
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills with experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop productive working relationships across all levels, internally and externally
- Solid knowledge of local geography and construction jobsite logistics
- High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to stay calm under pressure and resolve issues quickly
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in ready-mix, construction, transportation, or logistics is considered an asset; prior dispatch or fleet management experience is strongly preferred
