This is an opportunity to join a high-performing brokerage team where no two days look the same. As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in keeping freight moving by building strong carrier partnerships, securing capacity, negotiating rates, and ensuring shipments are executed flawlessly. Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 / Year DOE
Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and secure carriers and drivers to cover available freight
- Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring accurate communication of shipment details to carriers
- Track and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery, providing updates to internal teams and customers
- Collect and verify all carrier documentation for on-time shipment closeout and billing
- Build, develop, and maintain long-term carrier relationships
- Collaborate with Account Managers to provide operational support, pricing input, and customer updates as needed
- Assist with customer service and account management functions to ensure consistent communication and successful delivery performance
- Generate new carrier leads and onboard qualified partners to expand the carrier network
- Proactively identify and resolve shipment or service issues, using sound judgment and effective problem-solving
- Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, 3PL, or freight brokerage, with a preference for 3+ years
- Experience booking a minimum of 8-10 shipments per day, including both temperature control and dry van
- Strong understanding of transportation, including carrier regulations and best practices
- Knowledge of truckload shipping, lanes, and freight pricing/margins
- Familiarity with carrier networks and trucking operations
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ideally McLeod, though not mandatory
- Analytical thinker with strong mathematical aptitude for pricing and rate analysis
- Comfortable negotiating truckload rates with carriers
- Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal communication skills for daily interactions via email and phone
- Ability to grow and maintain a reliable carrier network
- High sense of accountability and drive to succeed
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
