Transportation Coordinator (Final Mile Delivery)

About the RoleUnder the supervision of the Planning Manager, this role coordinates final‑mile delivery operations in the Irving, TX market to meet our safety, quality, and cost standards. The position works closely with Outbound Leads, Driver Partners, Delivery Service Providers, and cross‑functional teams in Transportation and Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities- Follow company safety protocols, wear required PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
- Ensure packages are scheduled for delivery each operating day, release routes per routing guidelines, and confirm driver assignments and ETAs at least 12 hours before pickup.
- Manage relationships with the market driver pool, assist with recruitment and onboarding, and maximize engagement and retention.
- Select, evaluate, and manage delivery‑service‑provider (DSP) vendor relationships.
- Use client forecasts and launch schedules to determine driver coverage requirements and match supply with demand to achieve on‑time delivery (OTD) and cost metrics.
- Coach and mentor driver partners and DSPs to reach on‑time delivery, cost, and customer‑satisfaction goals.
- Assist in developing and implementing routing parameters and volume‑allocation guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience in last‑mile delivery, dispatching, or transportation in the local market.
- Excellent knowledge of local geography, transportation arteries, and traffic patterns.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills; ability to influence independent contractors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Effective time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a time‑sensitive environment.
- Proficient with Google Drive, Slack, and related operations software.
- OSHA Forklift Operator certification is a plus.
Stand, walk, sit at a desk, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl; move or lift up to 60 pounds daily.
Hours and AvailabilityFlexible hours required, including holidays and weekends. Typical start times are 5‑7 am, five consecutive days with two days off (e.g., Sun‑Thurs or Sat‑Wed). Weekend or holiday shifts may be required.
TravelThis role does not typically require travel.
LocationIrving, Texas. In‑person work.
Pay$20 – $25 per hour (Irving, TX).
