The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels across all departments or warehouses. This role ensures the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of products, as well as timely updates of inventory records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proficient with inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Update inventory databases and systems with item counts, transfers, adjustments, and damages.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams to track stock levels and forecast inventory needs.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory control procedures.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, usage, and variances for management review.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to inventory handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
- Support physical inventory counts and year-end audits.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Net Suite, Oracle, Quick Books).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods if required.
- Experience with barcode/RFID systems
- Knowledge of logistics or supply chain principles
- Forklift certification (if applicable)
